Welcome to the Sidney Police Department!

The Sidney Police Department is a full-service law enforcement organization dedicated to serving and partnering with our community to protect life and property and enhance the overall quality of life for the citizens of Sidney, Montana.

The Sidney Police Department is proud to serve the community of Sidney, with its population of approximately 6,500 people.  Sidney is often thought of as a hidden gem located in far eastern Montana, only a few miles from the North Dakota border, in an area that is rich in western history.  The industry in our area is primarily agricultural, but we are also within the Bakken Oil Formation of western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and southern Saskatchewan with oil field activity and jobs being a big part of our economy.

The Sidney Police Department consists of 13 full-time sworn officers who make up both our Patrol and Investigation Divisions, along with a single civilian administrative assistant.
