Code of Ethics

Code of Ethics

Each officer, when they take the Oath of Office, and every two years thereafter, must affirm that they will abide by the Montana Public Safety Officer's Code of Ethics.  Violations of this Code of Ethics are grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination.  Additionally, violations of this Code of Ethics may result in sanctions by the Montana POST Council on a peace officer's certification.

The bottom line is that the Sidney Police Department is committed to ensuring that its officers are held to the highest professional, moral, and ethical standards so that the citizens of Sidney can have the fullest confidence in their police force.
